Coming off the heels of his failure to perform at Wizkid’s controversial concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, many had feared the worst at King Promise’s flagship show.

Already, the ‘Ring My Bell’ hitmaker had apologised multiple times for the incident despite his initial rejoinder which was met with resistance by most fans who felt hard done.

When the night eventually came, the critics’ fears seem to be materialising from the jump.

A delay in stage set-up and a snail-paced attendance at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel had impacted the event which had been advertised to take off at 6 PM.

The opening act performed at midnight after which the headliner himself took over affairs at almost 1 am.

He never looked back from there, though he apologized for the hiccups that had culminated in the late start.

“I’m so sorry I took forever. We had a few unforeseen circumstances that were beyond my power,” he said.

His stage presence seemed to be enough compensation for the lapses experienced earlier on as the fans jammed to the musician’s songs.

He also welcomed collaborators Sarkodie, Joeboy, Gyakie, Omah Lay, La Meme Gang, Camidoh and Joey B.

There were also some surprise acts which sent the fans into a frenzy including R2Bees, NSG, Mr Eazi, Kwamz of ‘Kwamz & Flava’ fame, AV, Quamina MP and Smallgod.

The evening saw more apologies including one done by Smallgod on behalf of the Nungua-raised artiste for the Accra Sports Stadium incident.

“I apologise for my children, Wizkid, King Promise, R2bees. We are sorry, forgive us. And also thank you for coming to support us.”

Smallgod was not the only one to solicit forgiveness for the December 10 no-show.

Mugeez did same during R2Bees’ set with the Legacy Life Entertainment signee, Promise.

He revealed an advice King Promise failed to heed which he believes could have lessened the ensuing backlash.

“I tell King Promise say if somebody vex you, make them cool down before you apologise [sic]. So to all the girls, the boys… they are okay… we are really sorry for what happened,” Mugeez said.
