Afrobeats singer Kuami Eugene has stated that it’s not realistic to compare the Ghanaian music market and the Nigerian music market.
During an interview on Ofie Kwanso with Jerry Justice, he said this comparison is unrealistic due to the huge difference in the population of the two countries – which automatically makes Nigeria have more musicians than Ghanaians have.
“In Nigeria, if half of the population stream your music, it wouldn’t be the same as Ghanaians. No matter how gifted we think we are,” he said.
The “Rock Star” added that becoming known internationally as a singer is not an easy task. It takes hard work, perseverance, and seizing opportunities well.
Therefore, he feels a sense of pride seeing any Ghanaian overcome this stage.
“I hold my other colleagues in high esteem when we blow because it’s not easy.”
“We need to appreciate artists that blow up from here,” he concluded.
