The wind rustles through the long grass at Shai Hills Resort. Tucked, 41 kilometers away from the country’s capital, Accra, the resort hosts a number of nature’s beautiful wildlife reserves.
Since its inception, 31 species of mammals, 13 reptiles and 175 birds have been identified in the area.
As the world battles with the extinction of some valuable wildlife, these animals in the 48 km2 space can call the resort their home.
The mosaic forest which hosts zebras, antelopes, ostriches, and baboons among others; draws tourists each year.
And it’s scenic views led wildlife photographer, Kwadwo Effah-Asare, to the venue.
Below are some of his works via Picspired Photography.
Nearby, is the Asenema Waterfall. It is best described as one of the hidden gems in the rainforest of the Akuapem Hills, outside of Accra, and north of Aburi.
