Nana Ansah Baah, the Omanhene of Yamo, who doubles as the president of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs,says his people have decisively chosen to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections.
Nana Ansah Baah dropped the hint when the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid a courtesy call on the Ahafo Regional House of chiefs at Goaso yesterday.
“As election is approaching, the only thing God wants is peace. We all need peace to support one person, and that person is Dr. Bawumia,” Nana Ansah Baah stated.
“We at Ahafo have already made up our mind and we will vote for him massively and there is nothing that will change my mind.”
The Omanhene underscored the community’s unwavering confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to lead with truthfulness and foster peaceful progress. “We need a truthful and peaceful leader and that is him, Dr. Bawumia,” he affirmed.
Nana Ansah Baah expressed optimism that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership would bring about substantial improvements in infrastructure, livelihoods and overall prosperity for the people of Ahafo. “Let us all help him to win so that we can all be at peace,” Nana Ansah Baah said.
However, Omanhene bemoaned the bad nature of the Tepa-Goaso road and called on the flag bearer to do something about it.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who also took turn to address the gathering, indicated that his outfit would see to it that the bad road is reconstructed.
He further emphasised on the country’s level of religious tolerance, saying “Ghana is a very peaceful country. There is tolerance across the various religions andit is not the same in other countries. This makes us very unique.”
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia underscored the significant strides made by the NPP government, particularly in the education sector and national development projects.
Touching on government’s efforts towards developing education, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the Free TVET program, which he is credited with contributing to notable development projects nationwide.
These projects include the construction of public libraries, sports facilities and other infrastructure essential for community development.
“For instance, Free Senior High (FSHS) has helped a lot of students. The total number of FSHS students increased from 800 to 1.4 million students.
Their performances are also better than before. The free TVET also contributed to significant development projects in the country with the building of public libraries and sports facilities among others,” he said.
“The work the NPP government has done surpasses that of the NDC government,” Vice President Bawumia jabbed, citing the success of the FSHS initiative.
He noted that the program has significantly increased enrolment with the number of free SHS students rising from 800 to an impressive 1.4 million students.
Moreover, he pointed out that students’ academic performances had shown marked improvement under this initiative.
Reflecting on his own responsibilities as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia mentioned the critical role he played in issuing Ghana Cards to 17.6 million Ghanaians.
He highlighted the efficiency of the system, noting that even newborn babies received their Ghana Card and Birth Certificate Number during routine weigh-ins.
Additionally, he mentioned the simplified access to student loans which no longer require guarantors, making it easier for students to pursue higher education.
As a result of these achievements, he called on the people of Ahafo to vote for him as president, so that he can continue the good work he has already began.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has begun the Bawumia for President 2024 campaign across all 16 regions in a bid to secure victory in the upcoming polls,under the theme: “BOLD SOLUTIONS FOR OUR FUTURE.”
The campaign will have a strong emphasis on issues and prioritise on addressing key concerns and presenting practical solutions tailored to resonate with the Ghanaian populace.
It also aims to foster meaningful dialogue and interaction with various stakeholders, including traditional leaders, religious figures, youth groups, traders, farmers, students and business owners.
The upcoming months will witness Dr. Bawumia engaging in town hall meetings, media interactions, stakeholder engagements and policy discussions aimed at addressing critical national issues.
