The Assemblyman for Adweso Town Electoral Area in the New Juaben South Municipality, Samuel Amo, has organized a Free Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) weekend classes for final year students within his area.

The bold initiative by the Assemblyman is to improve teaching and learning among Junior High Schools (JHS), most especially the final year students.

At the launch of the maiden free weekend classes, Mr Amo said it was imperative for all stakeholders to put their shoulders to the wheel and ensure that the students have prepared well for the exams.

This, he explained, would help the area to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) which aims to provide children and young people with quality and easy access to education with other learning opportunities.

According to the Assembly Member for the area, development of every community solely depended on the quality of education of its members and, therefore, called for proper investment in the sector.

He continued that mathematics and science play pivotal roles in shaping students’ understanding of the world and driving progress across various domains.

He, therefore, called on donors and philanthropists to support the initiative to help empower the young generation and reduce inequalities in the community.
