Ghana will in the next couple of years witness the construction of its first ever Golf Academy to train young people in that affluent sporting discipline which enjoys huge participation of the rich adult class.

The project that comes at an estimated cost of 500,000 dollars when completed, will offer the opportunity to young people in Ghana and the West African sub region to develop their talents in golf .

It will also seek to provide the required resources and technical expertise for athletics and golf.

This was disclosed by the Founder and CEO of the Danny List Foundation, Mr Danny List at a news conference in Accra.

Danny List who is a notable Ghanaian international golfer used the occasion to launch the foundation and its maiden charity invitational golf tournament which will take place in Accra on January 31, is expected to assemble 36 junior golfers from West Africa who will battle for various prizes at stake.

Explaining how he mooted the idea, Danny List said there is no golf academy in Ghana to train and develop talents and according to him, that has been the reason there are only a few professional golfers plying their trade overseas.
