The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta is now the caretaker minister for the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
He has been asked by the President to take up this role following the resignation of the substantive Minister, Alan Kyerematen.
The Finance Minister is to take charge of the Trade and Industry Ministry, “until a substantive appointment is made,” a Jubilee House statement said moments ago.
According to the release, Alan Kyerematen, yesterday, “informed the President personally of his decision to resign, and subsequently submitted his resignation letter to him.”
Jubilee House has also said the President thanked him for his service to the government and the country, and wished him well in his future endeavours.
