For the first time in the history of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), School of Law, a student has graduated with first-class honours.

The young woman who made herself, family and school proud by this feat is, Naziha Amin Gombilla.

The Tamale native graduated from the UPSA School of Law with an FCGPA of 3.72. Being the only student with a First Class, means Miss Gombilla was the valedictorian of the year group.

In her Valedictorian speech, Miss Gombilla was thankful to her lecturers and faculty heads for their impact not just on her life but on her colleagues as well.

“When I wrote my West African School Certificate Examination, I failed mathematics, I had to stay home for a year so I could re-write this subject. Though tough it was, I am proud to announce to you that, this setback was not a setback. It was the beginning of multiple opportunities for me,” she said.

The first-class graduate added that “personally, I see this moment of our graduation as a call to service for Ghana, Africa and the world. Instead of burying our skills, let us use them to promote Ghana and our beloved alma mater.”
