The temporary closure of shops in the Central Business District of Accra by the Ghana Union of Traders Associations (GUTA) due to economic hardship entered its 2nd day today.
Scenes witnessed in and around Okaishie indicate that some of the traders have opened their shops for business although many of the sales outlets still remain closed.
The traders want the government to address the rising inflation, falling value of the cedi against the major forex, high taxation and the general economic malaise. The protest is to run for four days.
