Ghanaians on social media are unenthused by President Akufo-Addo’s address on the state of the economy.

According to many of them, the move which was meant to inspire hope and trigger solidarity rather left much to be desired.

The country currently is in an economic crisis leaving a dire impact on all sectors.

The Finance Ministry is at the doors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) seeking a possible $3 billion support amid intensifying hardship, skyrocketing fuel prices, a rising cost of living and a depreciating cedi.

This is why the President considered it prudent to hold the Sunday night address.

In the speech, he cautioned against speculation over the cedi’s value, hinted at reaching an IMF deal by end of the year, and promised the safety of investors’ funds among others.

However, the sentiments on social media show the message did not sit well with the populace.

Below are some of the reactions.
