Independent candidate in the December presidential elections, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has promised to transform the Central Region into a Financial Hub, when voted into power.

The leader of the Movement for Change said his government would work closely with private sector partners and educational institutions to create an environment conducive for financial growth in the region.

The former Trade and Industry Minister made the promise whilst touring some selected markets in the central region, as part of his campaign activities.

Mr Kyerematen’s tour took him to the Kasoa, Winneba, Swedru, Mankesim, Elmina and the Kotokoraba and Abura markets in the Cape Coast Municipality, to interact with the traders and showcase his vision for them when voted to power in the December elections.

To achieve this vision, the leader of Movement for Change outlined concrete steps, including implementing a supportive legal framework, offering incentives for companies to invest, as well as improving the infrastructure to facilitate commerce.

Mr Kyerematen also emphasised the importance of equipping the workforce with the needed skills to excel in finance-related fields.

He said since the Central Region sits between the Capital City of Accra and the natural resource endowed Western region, there was the need to come out with a well-thought-out vision to enable it harness its potential to be the financial heartbeat of the nation.

He underscored the tangible benefits that his vision holds for the people of the Central Region, promising more jobs, increased opportunities, and improved standard of living.

Mr Kyerematen reiterated his long-term goal for Ghana, envisioning a nation where every region thrives as a unique socio-economic hub and mentioned that the greater Kumasi enclave in the Ashanti Region is set to be the country’s next financial hub after Tema, a project he initiated as the former trade minister.

He, therefore, called on all stakeholders to join him on this journey towards prosperous Ghana and said he was on a mission with a vision to transform Ghana from poverty to prosperity.
